Robert Foran

Mr. Robert Eugene Foran, age 95, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born February 24, 1921 in Bement, Illinois. Mr. Foran was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country in WWII. He flew 27 missions as a B17 gunner. He was a private pilot, loved flying and was a general mechanic for airplanes. He was an avid motorcyclist, having his Goldwing flown to Europe to tour the countryside. He loved square dancing, traveling, growing things and especially loved Golden Corral. He had a thirst for learning and was a lifelong learner. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Foran was preceded in death by his first wife, Polly Foran and his second wife, Catherine Foran; his parents, Edward Foran, Jr. and Catherine; and his children, Pat Foran, David Foran, Michael Foran and Irene Foran.

He is survived by sons, John Foran, Bobby Foran, Tommy Foran and Joseph Foran; daughters, Barbara Ann Tighe, Mary Sipe, Veronica Russell and Cathy Foran; brother, Wayne Foran; sister, Marie Beck; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at Marietta National Cemetery.
