Mrs. Laura Bennett Higbee Allen, age 58, of Douglasville, GA passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born August 24, 1955 in Joliet, IL. Mrs. Allen was a Veteran of the US Navy, retiring with more than 20 years of service. She was a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a BS degree in Education. Mrs. Allen was a member of Church at the Ridge.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Martha Nelson Higbee; and a sister, Martha Higbee.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Allen; son, Paul B. Allen; daughter, Violet Havlik and husband CJ; grandson, Ladislav Havlik; sister, Elizabeth Gordon; brother, Jim Higbee and wife Rebecca; brother, Charlie Higbee; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Steve Whipple officiating.
