Mrs. Georgia Hesterlee McIntosh, age 90, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016. A native of Douglas County, she was born June 12, 1926, was a 1943 graduate of Douglas County High School and was employed by the Douglas County Board of Education. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, quilting and sewing. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Mrs. McIntosh was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Miller Hesterlee; sisters, Helen Hunter, Opal Sailors and Mildred Grantham; brothers, Charles “Buddy” Hesterlee and Sanford Hesterlee.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Huey McIntosh; daughter, Diane Motes and husband Mike; grandson, Steven Motes and wife Connie; granddaughters, Staci Lawrence and husband Christian, and Betsy Craig and husband Chuck; great-grandchildren, Mason Lawrence, Mallory Lawrence, Magan Lawrence and Manning Lawrence; and sister, Tommie Melton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Virgil Smith, Reverend Terry Braswell and Reverend Gene Fields officiating. Interment will follow in Douglasville City Cemetery.
