Virgie Lee Verret

Virgie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved eating cotton candy, fritos, and silver bells. Virgie enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and watching baseball especially the Texas Rangers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children, Wendell Verret (Karen) and Darla Grisaffe (Burt); four grandchildren, Jared Verret, Ashlyn Simmers (Aaron), Jude Verret and B.J. Grisaffe; one great grandchild, Baylor Grace Simmers and four siblings, Shirley Campesi, Theresa Campesi, Edward Hidalgo, and Geralyn LeBoeuf.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Verret; one son, Keith Verret; parents Claude Sr. and Bernadette Hidalgo and three siblings, Claude Hidalgo Jr., Evelyn Hymel and Merrick Hidalgo.

A visitation will be held at St. Jules Catholic Church on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice, her special nurse, Debbie and her three caregivers, Laverne, Connie, and Michelle.
