Sidney Joseph Palermo

A retired mechanical supervisor at Georgia Gulf (Pacific) Corporation for 30 years, Sidney loved to fish, especially with his father, and spent much of his time on or near the water. He had a lifelong passion for gardening and loved to be outdoors with his plants almost as much as he loved showing them off. Active in the St. Joseph Society, Pa Pa Sidney loved to laugh and spoil his grandchildren, whom he adored.

He is survived by the love of his life, his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Carole Regira Palermo; daughter, Dr. Nikki Palermo Denoux (Scott); son, Gino Palermo (Patricia); grandchildren, Emma Palermo DeArmond (Blane), Christian Denoux and Luke Denoux; great-grandchild, Adeline DeArmond; and brother, David Palermo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Millien Palermo and Sardo Palermo; sisters, Angelina Palermo Blanchard and Glenda Palermo; brother, Pasquale Palermo; and grandson, Caleb Denoux.

Visitation will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 8:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Mausoleum. Father Matthew Dupre will be officiating.
