Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was a son of Delores and the late Winston G. Fletcher. Steven "Fletcher" loved life; enjoyed teasing and harassing his friends and loved ones. He loved sports and was a diehard New England Patriots Fan; he played football, softball and coached the kids and continued to coach the children when he came to Canada.
He will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.
Steven was a loving husband to his wife, Regina Fletcher and a loving father to: daughter, Veronica Fletcher (Dywane), Boston, Mass; sons, Winston Fletcher, Boston, Mass; Tristan and Matthew Johnson, both of Digby; step-daughter, Claudette Miller of Russell, Manitoba. He was known as Grampster, Pops and Papa Fletch to his grandkids, Synea, Camryn, Ma'kai, Quincey, Heaven, Andre, Kalla, Andy, Gei, Regan, Aiden and Chassidy. Steven is also survived by his mother, Dolores Fletcher of Stockbridge, GA; sisters, Elizabeth (Sylvester) Cotton, Augusta, GA; Leslie D. (Ronald) Witherspoon, Marretta, GA; Kimberly A. (David) Counts, Douglasville, GA; brother, Daryl (Maggie) Fletcher, Montgomery; uncle, Joseph P. Gardiner, Stockbridge, GA and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his aunt, Jeanie Gardiner, Boston, Mass.
Visitation will be 7-9 pm on Tuesday, October 16th at Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby, NS (902-245-2525). Cremation will take place and Funeral Service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, October 17 at Acaciaville Baptist Church, Pastor Roy Bertaux and Pastor Theresa Character presiding.
