Rae Erma Oliver

Rae lived a very active life, she had very fond memories of ice skating at the rink in Digby with her school friends. She attended school there until graduating, after which she began working at Margolians clothing store. Once Rae got married in 1954 she kept busy at home raising her 7 children. Family has always been very important to Rae, in later years she adored spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going on camping trips and did some travelling with her husband Garnet. Rae bowled weekly with the local seniors bowling league, and she was never one to turn down an opportunity to go shopping. She spent lots of time outdoors in her flower gardens and tending to her bird feeders- hummingbirds were her favorite.

Rae is survived by her daughters, Linda (Larry Lewis) of Digby Neck, Lois (Bill Pollock) of Wallaceburg, ON; sons, David (Kim Comeau), Randy, Michael (Darlene Melanson), Glen (Patricia Murphy) and Douglas (Ginger Murphy) all of Digby; sister Lorna Cummings; brother, Lloyd Turnbull; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Rae is predeceased by husband, Garnet Oliver; sister, Lois; brothers, Robert, Ernest and Donald.

As per Rae’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral home. A service will be held at Jayne's Funeral Home in Digby on August 2 at 11am, burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Pastor Nathan Waterman to officiate.

Donations in memory of Rae may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Mountain Lea Lodge.
