In celebration of her life, the family of the late Olive Mae Langford-Riley of Dartmouth formerly Weymouth Falls, announces her passing on Wednesday June 19th, 2013 at the age of 84 in the Admiral Nursing Home, Dartmouth, NS. Born in Weymouth Falls, Olive was a daughter of the late James and Freda (Cromwell) Langford. She was employed by the Nova Scotia Home and later worked for years as a Nanny and Housekeeper. Olive is survived by children Leota (Percy) Riley, Dartmouth; Alan “Reid” Riley, Dartmouth; Percy “Junior” (Kelley) Riley, Ont.; Sharon Riley, Ont.; Byron (Lisa) Riley, Dartmouth; Veronica (Rev Donald) Hagans, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Dawn (Ken) Matheson, Middle Sackville; Sandra Riley, Dartmouth; and Mark (Rev Jennifer) Riley, New Minas; two step-sons, Anthony Riley (Denise), Terrance Riley (Sharlene), a sister, Eileen Langford, and a niece, LaVonne Langford, both of Montreal; a brother in-law, Sherman Palmer, of St John, NB; her only surviving Aunt -Eva Barton, of Dartmouth, 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 6 godchildren Eugene Sparks, Noella Barton, Barry Sparks, Marilyn Cromwell, Bradford Beals, Ms Middleton. Olive was predeceased by daughter, Tracy Riley; sisters, Verna La Pointe and Emerice Palmer. Special thanks to two caregivers -Roxanne Wright and Valerie Beals. The family wants to say thank you to the special friends Mom had that meant so much to her and that helped enrich her life. Dartmouth Visitation 2-4 & 6-9 pm Monday June 24th, at Mattatall’s Funeral Home, Portland St., Dartmouth with memorial Service at 7pm.
