It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Olive Florence Amero, at Tideview Terrace on April 19th, 2025. Born in Hilltown, Digby Co., she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Irene (Gavel) Sullivan.
Olive found joy in life’s simple pleasures – baking delicious treats, sewing and every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren. She will be remembered as a woman of incredible strength, kindness, and unwavering generosity. With a loving and compassionate spirit, she touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving an incredible mark that will never fade. Most importantly, she was a dedicated mother, whose love knew no bounds. Her warmth and giving nature uplifted those around her. Her legacy of grace, compassion, and quiet strength will live on in the memories of those she held dear.
Olive is survived by her sons Joey (Denise) Amero of Saulnierville and Neil Amero of Plympton. Siblings Genos (Gladys) Sullivan and Bev (Bob) Bell. Grandchildren Kendra (Bernie), Wade (Jessie), Monica (Devin), Victoria (Corey), Tim (Wanni) and Roy (Emily). Great grandchildren Zach, Cadence, Noah, Jade, Charlotte and Wyatt.
Aside from her parents, Olive is predeceased by her husband Adolph Amero, their sons Andy Amero and Blaine Amero. Brothers Cornel, Frances and Willard Sullivan; sisters Rita Scott, Stella Saulnier, Hilda Sullivan and Dora Amero.
Donations in memory of Olive can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A visitation will take place on Monday April 28th, 2025, from 6-8 pm from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A funeral Mass will take place Tuesday April 29th, 2025, from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 1 pm, with reception to follow.
