HANSHAW,(Amero), Nina Annie-78 of Digby, formerly of Bear River, passed away after a brief illness in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with her family at her bedside on April 21, 2011. Nina was born Sept. 16, 1932 in Digby. Nina was a daughter of the late Bessie (Amero) and Donald Rice. Besides her parents Nina was predeceased by a son James in early childhood, biological father Bernard Amero, half brother Bert Amero and ex-husband Eugene. Although divorced several years ago, they had remained friends up to his passing four years ago. Nina will truly be missed by Children Barbara (Shaun), Bruce (Jane), Claudette (Michael), Mille(Gerry) and Roxanne (Gary), much loved grandchildren, Valene, James, Craig, Chad, and Jenna, great-grandchildren Kirkland and Misha and Grammie will be forever loved and missed by William. She shall be remembered always with fondness and love by sisters Diane (Wayne), and Delores (Victor), brother Donald (Norma). Nina always had an open door policy and she always enjoyed talking on the phone. Her ear never tired of listening to her family’s stories. Nina was a very generous person. Nina’s most common saying and the family’s favorite “oh, that’s ok dear.” Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 Monday, April 25, 2011 At Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. (245-2525) Funeral Service 11am Tuesday in Bear River United Baptist Church. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Church Hall.
