Mary Augusta Johns

Johns, Mary Augusta age 82 of Tideview Terrace, Digby and formerly of Brighton, Digby Co. passed away May 17, 2022 at Tideview Terrace. Mary was a teacher all her career and many of her years teaching were grade 5 at the Digby Elementary School. She loved travelling and road trips, whether it was shopping in the States or a weekend at the cabin with her friends Irma and Anne. She would make many trips to Maine with her good friend Irma. Mary loved a good shop where she could find deals. She also enjoyed travelling to Scotland, England and Wales. Mary’s pastimes included reading, flower gardening and attending craft sales. She always had a white cat and loved them dearly. After living with Bill and Betty for 5 years, Mary was lovingly cared for by the Staff of Tideview Terrace. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Bay Baptist Church and loved all their Church gatherings. Mary is survived by her sisters Bev (William), Bernice (Adelbert) brother Bill (Betty), and her many nieces and nephews. Anyone who spoke with Mary would be well familiar with her closing remarks of “too-da-loo” and “come again when you can’t stay so long”. No visitation by request. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory can be made to the Tideview Terrace Bus Fund. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby.
