BUCKMAN, Leland James – Age 88, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024 at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born in Freeport, NS, he was the son of the late Auldin and Christena (Albright) Buckman. Leland worked for Northern Telecom as an installer for most of his life. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Legion. Leland enjoyed working on cars, gardening and most of all, spending time with his family.
Leland is survived by his children Heather (Ron), Wade (Tanya) and Robert; grandchildren Adam, Ian, Cara, Lisa, Addison, Zackerie and James; nephews Wayne and Barry. Leland is predeceased by his loving wife Rosemary (Haliburton) Buckman; brothers Theodore, Robert, Delbert, Melbourne and Percy; niece Beverley and nephew Craig.
A gathering to share memories and celebrate Leland’s life will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, family will begin welcoming guests at 2pm, at Jaynes Funeral Home, Digby. Donations in memory of Leland may be made to Hope for Wildlife or to any local animal shelter.
