Mullen, Glendon Peter, aged 62, of Hassett, Digby Co. passed away August 25, 2023 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Peterborough, Ont., he was a son of the late Edward Theodore and Helen Ruby (Hill) Mullen.
At 2 years of age Glen and the family moved to Nova Scotia. Following his graduation from WCHS Glendon attended both Agricultural College in Truro and NSCC in Yarmouth. He worked at his own mink ranch and his brother’s for 40+ years, as well as operating a small convenience store out of his home for 2 years.
Glendon enjoyed bowling and was on 5 and 10 pin teams. He also enjoyed playing softball on a local team, the Hilltown Hawks. Glendon was an avid baseball card collector and he also enjoyed oil painting. He was a dedicated caregiver to his mother for 8 years until her death in 2020. One of Glendon’s greatest pleasures was enjoyed his weekly shopping trips with his brother Larry. He was also a member of the New Tusket Baptist Church.
Surviving are his son Blair Clairmont; sister, Diana (Sankey) Mullen; brother, Larry (Darby) Mullen; granddaughter, Mya and 5 nephews; Christopher, Corey, Craig, Thane and Todd Mullen. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A joint funeral service for Glendon and his mother Helen Ruby Mullen will be held Oct. 7 at 2pm at the New Tusket Baptist Church with Rev. Tim O’Blenis officiating.
