Mrs Diane L (Isaacs) Haynes

It is with very heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Diane Laurena (Isaacs) Haynes in her 83rd year. She has gone to be with her heavenly Father where he has prepared a place for her with all her loved ones who have passed.

Born in Saint John NB to Michael and Charlotte (Bowe) Isaacs. They moved to Rossway, Digby Co NS. At 7 years old, Diane moved back to Saint John, NB to live with Roy and Marie Campbell.

Diane left school following grade nine to take a job to help the family. She worked at Green’s Restaurant. Following a few years at the restaurant she took a job at the Atlantic Sugar Refinery in Saint John.

Diane, at 19 met and married Alcide Sivret in 1959. She gave up working at that time to start their family together. They had four children. Alcide passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 1966.

She and her children then moved to Kingston NS for a few years and later to Smiths Cove to be near her Mom and Dad until she made her move to Digby NS. Diane met and married George Haynes on March 22, 1975. Their two families were raised together as one for 34 years until George passed away on April 7, 2009.

Mom was the most thankful, and grateful in every aspect of these later years. She always said she is so very thankful for her beautiful family and God’s provision for each one and for being a part of the family at Digby Baptist Church. Participaction in the choir, being a greeter, bible studies, church services, helping out on the social committee, the love of fellow believers, and being in charge of finding ushers each week were tasks Mom took great pride in as she grew stronger in her faith.

Mom enjoyed her morning coffee at Tim Hortons with a large circle of friends.

The love she had for her family was immeasurable.

Diane is survived by her children, Leonard Sivret (Patti), Berwick NS, Robert Sivret (Kathryn), Digby NS, Brenda Sivret Smith (Greg Van Tassel), Digby NS, Tony Skipton (Stephanie), Burton NB; stepchildren, Kevin Haynes (Daphne), Digby NS, Kathleen Geauvreau (Al), Bloomfield Rd NS, Sylvia Haynes (Robert), Rawdon Hills NS; 13 Grandchildren 16 Great grandchildren; brothers, Wendell Isaacs, St John NB, Warren Isaacs, Digby NS, Brian Isaacs and son in law Mark Grainger.

Diane was predeceased by Alcide Sivret, George Haynes, her parents, Michael and Charlotte Isaacs; son in law, David Smith; stepdaughter, Debbie Grainger and infant great granddaughter, Ava Grace Niessen.

Visitation will be held April 7 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday April 8, 11 am at Digby Baptist Church with reception to follow. Funeral service will be live streamed from: https://fweb.tv/99265
