Adams, Arnold Fletcher – 93, Lansdowne, Digby Co., passed away March 14, 2011 in Digby General Hospital. Born December 29, 1917, Arnold was a son of the late Fletcher and Nora (Woodman) Adams. Arnold was a woodsman and a truck driver. He was a farmer who enjoyed planting his vegetable gardens and raising farm animals. For many years Arnold worked at the Bear River Exhibition, and volunteered for the Digby Liberal Association. He enjoyed watching horse and ox pulls at local exhibitions. Arnold was an associate member of the Smith’s Cove Baptist Church. Arnold is survived by daughters Marianne Adams, Lansdowne; Valerie (Fred) Bigelow, Lansdowne; son Edward (Jean) Adams, Lansdowne; sisters Frances Freeman and Joyce Smith, brother Guy Adams, grandchildren Tom (Susan) Adams, Trisha (Josh) Dugas, Tania (Bill) Moore, Michael (Annie) Bigelow, great grandchildren Liam, Jenna, Aries, and Brittany, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his wife Clara (Corkum) Adams, brothers Eric, Garnet, Lloyd, Neil, Vaughn, sisters Lillian Henley, Mary Ditmars and Jean Taylor. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm Thursday at Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525). Funeral service 2pm Friday at Smith’s Cove Baptist Church, Pastor Mark Cress officiating.
