Dexter, MI
Age 88 passed away Monday, February 10, 2020. He was born in Detroit, MI, the son of Ernest and Helene (La France) Allain. Joseph served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 sailing all over the globe on the destroyer USS W.C. Lawe. He received the Navy Occupation Service medal and the National Defense Service medal. Joseph married June Marie Maltigliati in Detroit, MI on April 18 1959 and she survives. They moved their family from Dearborn Heights to Dexter in 1971 and were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Being a father was his greatest joy and he loved coaching baseball and little league. Joseph also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping (really roughing it). He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, June; five children, Mark (Theresa) Allain, Dan (Angela) Allain, Debbie Allain, Angela Allain and Anthony (Kim) Allain; eight grandchildren, Aimee, Mitchell, Tyler, Jordon, Tiffany, Kylee, Ethan and Angel; one great granddaughter, Ella; one brother, Raymond (Joyce) Allain; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael, brother, Rene Allain, and his sisters, Florence Slater and Rita Allain. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10 am to 12 noon at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 12 noon on Saturday.
