Dale Ira Tupper “Tup” age 58, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2019 after a long illness. He was born in Ann Arbor Michigan on October 19, 1960, the son of Janet Lyons of Dexter and Willis (Patty) Tupper of Pinckney.
Dale was a true Michigan man. His passion for all Michigan sports was well known throughout the athletic campus. He developed many friendships with athletes, coaches, ushers and staff. We thank everyone who helped Dale attend countless sporting events. His enthusiasm for music lead Dale to attend over 300 concerts. His knowledge of rock music was extraordinary. Dale loved his family, friends and his dachshunds, the most recent being Hutch. His smile was a true gift to everyone who met him. His passion for life was admired by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, Dale is survived by his brother Ronald (Andrea) Tupper of Pinckney, Dr. Michael (Lindsay) Tupper of Howell, Anne-Marie (Troy) Harker of Brighton, nieces Michelle (Chuck) Byrnes of Saline, Christine Tupper of Tampa, Liliana Tupper of Howell, nephews Zach and Finn Harker of Brighton and Mark Tupper of Howell. Dale was also loved by many aunts, uncles and extended family and many devoted friends, especially Dave Clark. Dale held a special place in the heart of the Latocki family of Dexter.
After graduating from Dexter High School, he attended Eastern Michigan University and Washtenaw Community College. He was employed by Dapco Industries, a local company started by his grandfather in 1943.
A “Tailgate” Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held at Gordon Hall, 8311 Island Lake Road, Dexter, MI on Sunday, September 29th, 2019 from 2:00-5:00 PM with a tribute to Dale at 3:00 PM. All are welcome and encouraged to dress for the weather in maize and blue apparel.
