Norm moved to Michigan in the early 40's and worked at a fruit canning factory in Kalamazoo. He then worked at Fischer Body in the paint department for over 30 years and retired in 1970. During his retirement years, he and his wife of over 65 years, Mary Lola, spent their winters in Arkansas where they enjoyed time with their family. Norm loved farming in his spare time and he and Lola always tended a large garden together. Norm and Lola were the founders of the DeWitt Baptist Church that he loved so much. He then lovingly cared for Lola for years during her illness. After his wife's passing he enjoyed spending time with his good friend, Fay Jones.
Norm was preceded in death by his wife, Lola; parents, Claude and Ada (Long) Jones; brother, Vernon Jones; and sisters, Betty Watson and Nadine Robinson. Surviving to cherish his memory are son, Charles "Butch" (Linda) Jones; grandchildren, David (Kelly) Jones, Lisa Goucher, Greg Goucher; great grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Kyle Jones, and Trycen Jones.
A visitation for Norman will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E Washington, DeWitt. The funeral service will take place Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Dewitt, 11068 S Dewitt Rd, with visitation form 10:00 am until the service. Committal service to follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing.
