Born September 14, 1977 in Lansing, MI, passed away on October 19, 2010 at age 33. Jamie is survived by parents, mother, Denise (David) Cushion; father, James L. Thelen; sisters, Kim (Mike) Beggs, Kris (Scott) Flint; step-sister Kim (Scott) Smith; brother Dean (Pam) Thelen; step-brother, Michael Cushion; nieces and nephews, Kaila, Brittany, Danielle, Nicholas, Christopher, Thalynn, Morgan and Rylee; grandmothers, Winifred Thelen and Genevieve Thelen; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by nephew, Brandon Thelen; grandfathers, Gerald Thelen and Jerome Thelen. Jamie was a 1996 graduate of Grand Ledge High School, involved in the student council, and cross country. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Living in Chicago, she made frequent phone calls to family living in Michigan and Oregon. Staying close and connected to the people that she loved was important to her. Jamie was a fun-loving Aunt. When she spent time with nieces and nephews, Jamie became one with the kids playing games with them. Jamie would always respond to friends in need no matter the hour. She was always ready for a good time, was generous and loved to have fun. Jamie loved the outdoors. One of her favorite things to do was stroll along the beach in Chicago with her dog Teddy. Jamie was loved by her family and all who knew her. We will forever remember her smile, infectious laugh and big personality. Our loss is heaven’s gain. May God bless our Jamie and may she forever be filled with joy and peace. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge Street, DeWitt, MI with Rev. Fr. Dwight M. Ezop as celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 24, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
