Earl Lavern Newman Jr.

Earl was born on February 18, 1974 in Lansing, the son of Earl and Constance (Cogswell) Newman.

Earl was one of seven children, which taught him the importance of family. As he got older and he became an uncle, he showcased how much love he had in his heart. Earl's nieces and nephews were his pride and joy. They lit up his life. In turn, Earl was the glue to his family. Earl made sure to keep the family gatherings going. He was always checking in on everyone. Family was everything to Earl.

Earl loved the outdoors. He loved feeling the sun and just being a part of nature. He also loved sports. Earl was a DIE HARD University of Michigan fan, loved the Tigers, the Redwings and always cheered on the Lions, even though he knew there was a big chance they'd lose. Earl also enjoyed watching the UFC cage fights. He loved NASCAR, watching the cars race on the track was something he never missed.

A visitation for Earl will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E Washington, DeWitt, MI 48820, followed by a funeral service at 1PM.

Earl is survived by his father, Earl (Cathy Coe) Newman Sr.; his siblings, Josie Newman, Charlene (Dave) Taylor, Donald (Katie) Horton, Jeff (Jaclyn) Newman, and Jeremy Cogswell; 19 wonderful nieces and nephews; his very close and dear friends, Dustin Alcaraz and Angela Garza-Bennett.

Earl is preceded in death by his mother; Constance Cogswell and sisters, Lisa Deline and Pamela Newman.
