Duane "Duke" Ruttan

Born in Williamston to George and June Ruttan on May 27th, 1941, Duane graduated from Williamston High School in 1959 before serving in the U.S. Army as Military Police in Vietnam from 1963 to 1965. Following his service, he worked as a road construction technician for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 31 years, also staying active with the Williamston American Legion.

Duane loved visiting with his family and friends, hunting, and boating. A perfectionist, he remodeled his own homes in the Williamston and Howell area with his lifelong friend, Larry Ward, before moving to Williamsburg in 2006 with his wife, Becky. He is remembered with love by his family as a deeply kind, generous, good man.

Duane is preceded in passing by his parents, George and June Ruttan; and his brothers, Dale and Gary (Dana) Ruttan. Surviving Duane are his wife, Becky Ruttan; stepsons Jason (Terry) Everest and Aaron Everest; grandchildren Emily, Erika, Ean, Henri, and Rowan; his sister-in-law Mary; several nieces; and his nephew.

Duane’s family would like to thank Corso Care Hospice for their care of Duane. They would also like to thank Provision Living staff for the exceptional care and support Duane and Becky have received over the last several months.
