Duane Edward Price, DeWitt, age 90 passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday December 27th. Ed was born on November 15, 1932 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Frank and Gertrude (Fillion) Price.
He left school early to join the United States Army Air Corps in 1949 (later the U.S. Air Force) and served twenty years, He is a veteran of the World War 2 War of Occupation, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
He married the loves of his life, Patricia Modrak, on August 4, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alpena, Michigan. Upon his retirement from the Air Force in 1970 they settled in Herron, Michigan where his opened a small business and spent his free time supporting the Saint Rose Catholic Parish; fishing in Thunder Bay; camping; and boating in Michigan’s inland lakes. Ed continued his life journey by selling his business and moving to DeWitt in 1981 and started working as a computer system engineer for Motorola, then Data General. He joined the Catholic Community of St. Jude and became an active member of the Knights of Columbus, a fourth-degree member, and served as the Grand Knight.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, loving wife, and son Thomas. He is survived by sister Donna Watkins; two brothers James Price and Leroy Price; children, Daniel (Laura) Price, Robert (Lisa) Price, Michael (Teresa) Price, and Kathleen (James) Richardson; and grandchildren Cynthia, Robin, Lisa, Dawn, Linda, Brett, Jonathan, Christopher (Laura), Nicholas (Mandi), Matthew, Joseph, DaMario, Aryana, Lucas, Casey (Celeste), and Isabel; and nine great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation for Duane will be held at Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St. DeWitt, Mi 48820 on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 9:00 am -11:00 am, with a rosary starting at 11:00 am. Service will start at 11:30 am.
Burial will take place at a later date.
