Christin Lynn Hudgins, age 66, passed away in Lansing, Michigan on November 9, 2023, surrounded by family. Born and raised in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, Chris, as a teen, moved with family to her beloved mountains of Central Pennsylvania. Chris graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Science. It was at Penn State that Chris and Jim Hudgins met, fell in love, and were married.
Chris worked in the PSU water resources laboratory and later as a wildlife biometrician in West Virginia. Chris loved nature and enjoyed birding, whether in the backyard or at wildlife areas. An avid and creative crafter with many talents, Chris most recently enjoyed crocheting amigurumi figures for family and holidays.
Family was most important to Chris. She loved her parents Mike and Mitzi Johnson, brothers Scott (Kathy) and Todd (Marcy), brother-in-law Bob, nephews, niece, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris and Jim were blessed to have wonderful twin sons – Jacob (and wife Tina) and Caleb (and wife Angie). The greatest joys in Chris’s life were her four grandchildren – Aubri, Jameson, Caia, and Juniper.
No memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent directly to the Michigan Chapter of The Nature Conservancy (101 E. Cesar E.
