Born on October 1, 1941 in North Korea, she moved to Guam in adulthood after losing her first husband. After meeting her second husband and children through the church, she dedicated her life to the Catholic faith, being a devoted wife, a caring and resourceful mother, and a loyal, dedicated friend to many around her.
Young Julie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Joseph (Kyung Su) Yi, daughter Clara HyunJung (Sammy) See, son John SungHwan (Brina) Yi and 5 grandchildren who she absolutely adored - Christopher, Kailee, Alexander, Madeline and Margaret.
Viewing for Young Julie will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL. Visitation will continue Saturday, October 5 beginning at 9:30 AM, at St. James Catholic Church, 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL until the celebration of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to either Dementia Society of America or Alzheimer's Association.
