Walter Carl Krause

Walter Carl Krause of Des Plaines passed away on November 19, 2024. He was born July 15, 1935 to Carl and Hilda (Wright) Krause of rural Parkers Prairie, MN. He farmed with his parents before joining the Army in 1959. On May 6, 1961 he married Frances “Fran” Hunter. After his military service, he returned to MN where he was employed by Lampert Lumber Co., Alexandria and Inland Flooring Dist., Minneapolis, MN. In 1971 he transferred to the Inland Flooring office in Illinois. He retired from Merle B. Smith Co., Burr Ridge, IL in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Fran; two sons, Norman and Scott of Des Plaines, IL; sisters, Della (Norman) Sukke of Alexandria, MN and Janice (Marvin) Suchy of Brandon, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Florence (Marvin) Kluver, Betty Jane (Duane) Huizinga, and Virginia (Louis) Harstad.

Visitation Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines and from 10:00 -11:00 am on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lee & Thacker Streets, Des Plaines, IL, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines, IL.
