Robert G. Uselding

Uselding, Robert G., 93, died February 11th after a long life of loving God, his sweet Lorraine, his family, his friends, and in the end, those who cared for him at Lexington Rehabilitation of Schaumburg.

Robert was married to Lorraine (Herold) for 67 years until her death in 2015.

He is survived by his children Robert M. (Diana), Geralynn (Don) Huffman, James (Heather); 7 grandchildren, Laura, Bryan, Matt, Christina, Jenna, Michael, and Tara; 7 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Abby, Evelyn, Matthew, Owen, Bella and Andy.

50 years ago, Robert, along with 2 friends, built a successful business, Asteroid Grinding, that is still in

operation today.

He was dedicated in his faith, family, and friends - showering them with his strong belief in the power of prayer, his amazing singing voice, his corny jokes as his desire was to see people smile. Robert was a founding and very active member of St. Zachary’s Catholic Church in Des Plaines. This included Minister of Care and his music ministry. Even in his later years with his memory failing (Alzheimer’s) God used him to bless people with his song and a smile.
