Robert Ernest Dubberke of Prospect Heights, Illinois has passed away on Thursday December 23, 2021 at the age of 86 years old. After years of battling multiple cancers, he died peacefully at home with his
family by his side.
Robert was born August 19, 1934 in Naylor, Missouri. Living most of his childhood working hard on a
farm. At the age of 17, he decided to join the army. After returning home from bootcamp he took his
soon to be wife Susan out on their first date. Shortly after he was shipped out to Korea where he served
his country proudly. He received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his heroic actions while serving in
Korea.
After returning home from the service, he was living in Wheaton Illinois, when he decided to get married
to Susan Koskosy. They were married on June 11, 1955. Celebrating just their 66th wedding anniversary
this past June.
Robert Had three children Bob, Jim, Kathy. 10 grandchildren and multiple great grandkids.
During his life he was a truck driver, mechanic, and cook county sheriff. He retired from the Sheriff's
office in 1995. Living out the rest of his life fishing and enjoying the time spent with his wife, kids,
grandchildren and great grandchildren
A visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 6:00 pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016
