Max R. Hoffman, 89, formerly of Haslett, MI. Born in Yale MI, April 17, 1924. He was a graduate of University of Michigan with a degree in Engineering. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant. He was a civil engineer with the Michigan State Highway System. He passed away in Des Plaines, IL on March 24, 2014. Beloved husband of Concetta "Connie" nee Arrigo, preceded in death by his first wife Harriet nee Judd; dear father of Nancy (David) Clark, Linda (Ronald) Lukasik, Max "Rick" (Mary) Hoffman II, step-father of Verna (Dan) Pfahl, Allen (Robin) Jacks, Mary (Chester) Bazan, Concetta (Donald) Kellough, Virginia (Steve) Spiegel, Andy (Denise) Jacks, Susan (Nicholas) Stahl, the late Karen (Robert) Emmett and the late Larry Jacks; loving grandfather of 31, great-grandfather of many. Visitation Thursday 3:00-9:00 pm at the Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. In state Friday 10:00 am at Christ Church, 1492 Henry St., Des Plaines, service to be held at 11:00 am. Interment to be held at East Lawn Memory Gardens, in Okemos MI.
