Jim was my first boss. I worked at the Hot Pretzel at the brickyard mall and at plaza pizzeria at the HIP. From 1986-1989 he gave me 15 raises. He was a kind and generous man who even hired my mother as the manager at the pretzel. God speed Jim, God speed.

Great memories from the Halloween parties. Mary and Jim laughing, having a good time and always sharing a nice conversation.  All the family is in my prayers.  Rest in peace Jim.

Jim was my boss at Hot pretzel and Sbarro’s brickyard mall, he was a great boss I worked many years with him he let me on charge of this two restaurants the last year brickyard was closed, I was a single mother and he let me keep my son in the dinner room when I didn’t have a baby sitter to take care of my son and I’m really thankful because of that. Jim and I were classmates at Christ the King School, Class of '66. Life took us in different directions, so I didn't see Jim all that often in recent years. Mainly it was at our very fun class reunions, where Jim always made sure we had a chance to chat, laugh and catch up. When I think of Jim, I think of a very funny and fun-loving guy who was always laughing and making the rest of us laugh as well. With over 50 students per classroom, this undoubtedly drove the good Sisters of Mercy insane. Consequently, Jim spent more time than any other student in "time out" behind the large folding bookcase in the classroom. I'm sure this gave him plenty of time to contemplate his future, and the sort of man he wanted to become.... kind, funny, a good friend and family man. My deep condolences to all of Jim's family and friends. 

To a wonderful friend and neighbor. We have had many laughs and fun gatherings. We will miss Jim very much. Our prayers for Mary, Chris and Laura that you find peace and healing. 💕

We want to extend our sincere condolences and prayers to Mary and the family.  We both met Jim at the Rome Center In 1973.   Jim was one of the first students to introduce himself and our friendship was sealed.   We traveled the world together and it was never a dull moment with Jim around.   We were thrilled to be able to spend some quality time with Jim at the reunion this last September.   Jim was truly a Chicago Southsider.   He was genuine and sincere.  A better friend you could not find.

Enjoyed spending time with both of you watching a movie, playing games, sitting in our family room with a nice fire going and a few drinks, spending time together in Michigan, and  being a great neighbor who was always available if we ever needed something.
 Happy to have memories that will last forever.!!!

Jim was my boss at my first job..Pizza Pizzazz.... I was 16. He was such a wonderful man.   So many of us remain friends because of him.  

I will never forget everything he taught me about being a good, dependable employee.
