DeQuincy - Virginia Smith, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in a local care center.
She was born December 25, 1942 in Lunita. She was a loving daughter, mother and wife. She catered and baked cakes for many local residents as well as people from surrounding areas. She volunteered her time visiting many elderly residents in the DeQuincy and Starks area.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Curtis Glen Smith; her sister, Bonnie Royer; and her parents Leo and Amy Perkins. Survivors include her daughter, Wendi S. Smith and partner Amber Morgan of New Orleans; brother, Billy Glenn Perkins of Singer; sisters, Wanda Jean Holley of DeQuincy, Delma Perkins of DeQuincy, and her cousin and best friend, Linda Smith and her husband George of Alvin, TX.
Her funeral services will be at 10:00am, Friday, June 14, 2013 in Hixson Snider Funeral Home. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 13, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and resume on Friday at 8:00am until service time in the funeral home.
