Dorothy Wallace "Dottie" Mazilly

Dorothy Wallace "Dottie" Mazilly, 79, of DeQuincy was entrusted to God’s loving care on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a teacher in Calcasieu Parish for 33 years. Dottie loved tending to her garden, crossword puzzles, and loved her grandchildren with all her heart.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Julie Mazilly Echegoyen (Hector) of Denham Springs, LA; sister, Gay Wallace Blagrave (Kenny) of DeQuincy, LA; grandchildren, Louis, Isabella, and Sophia Echegoyen; sister-in-law, Ruth Richard; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dottie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Ronald Mazilly; parents, Leland and Dorothy Wallace; and her sister, Jean Wallace.

A Graveside Celebration of Dottie's life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Masonic Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Crise officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy starting at 11:00am until the procession to the cemetery.
