William J. Cotter, 86, of Denver, passed away January 31, 2017. William was born in Denver, Colorado to Clement and Oline Cotter. He lived in Denver all of his life, with the exception of a brief residence in Lakewood. William was raised with 5 siblings and graduated from Manuel High School on June 10, 1949. He entered the Unites States Army in February of 1951 to fight in the Korean War. William spent the majority of his adult life helping take care of and provide for his father, mother and a brother. He loved golf, traveling, quiet and being helpful. He was described as being one of the nicest people, very kind and caring, and being one of God's good servants.
William is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, James F., Harold C., Owen L., Irma M., and Margaret J. He is survived by his nieces, Mary, Sylvia; nephews, Nicholas, Daniel, Michael, David, John, and William. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 9-10am at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Aurora, Colorado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 10am also at St. Pius X. William will be laid to rest at Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery in Aurora following his Mass.
