Jesse Raymond Anderson Jr. passed away at the age of 74 in Las Vegas, NV after complications with his health. Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Anderson, his mother, Alma Anderson, and his son, Danny Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Mattie Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, His brother, Virgil Anderson (Audrey) of Jenkins, Mo, His son ,Sam Anderson (Nichelle), and his daughter, Karen Mack (Adam) both residents of Colorado. Also by four stepchildren Mark Clemens (Nina) of Littleton Co, Kevin Clemens (Sherry),of Mill Creek, WA, Teresa K. Renz (Paul) of Houston, TX, and Clifford R. Clemens (Chris) of Vienna, VA; and eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Jesse was born and raised in Denver, CO and attended Manual High School. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 22. He attended basic training at Camp Pendleton in CA. Jesse was among the first Battalion to land in Vietnam in April of 1965. Jesse suffered a severe wound while in combat and had to have his left leg amputated just below the knee. Jesse never slowed down though, he was off to start his family and his career. His children Sam, Karen, and Danny were the light of his life, he was a kind and considerate father and loved his children dearly. Jesse had the opportunity to begin his career with IBM and that was a great fit for him. He worked for the company in several capacities for the next 29 years and ended his career as a manager in 1997.
Jesse met his wife Mattie in 1995 and they married in 1999. Soon after, they moved to Las Vegas to retire in the sunshine. They spent 17 wonderful years enjoying the summer sun and each other's company. Jesse and Mattie retained their Colorado connection through his beloved Denver Broncos making frequent trips back to watch all the home games.
Jesse will be missed by all that knew him, his laugh and sense of humor defined him as a person that truly enjoyed life.
Services will be at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel, located at 4345 West 46th Ave in Denver, CO, at 10:00 am on Monday, May16, 2016. Graveside service at Fort Logan
National Cemetery, at 9:30 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, staging area B.
