Jimmie Lou Newton Fisher

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Faith Church, Sherman, Texas with Pastor Charles Glass officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Jack B. Lilley, Horace Groff, Mark Schleuse, Ben Jacobs, Mark Eubanks and David Bayless Jr.

Jimmie was born October 15, 1924 in Odell, Texas to George and Elizabeth Newton. She was a High School graduate; she married F.L. “Pete” Fisher in Denison on June 23, 1946 and was a mother and homemaker. She was a member of Denison Rod n Gun Club, Woodlawn Country Club, Camp Sandy Point, Denison-Sherman Tennis Association, Denison Service League, Junior Alpha Delpha, Denison Women’s Investment, Thursday Review Club, Wednesday Night Bridge Group that later turned into Monday afternoon Bridge Group and Chelsea Street Garden Club. She had around 65 years of many, many Tennis Tournament winnings. She was a big part of getting tennis back in existence in this area.

She is survived by sons Alan Fisher of Sherman, Texas, Kelly Fisher of Plano, Texas; daughter Becky Rains and husband Tommy of Sherman, Texas; grandsons Brad Fisher and wife Amber of Denison, Texas, Chris Oubre and wife Chelsi of Meridian, Mississippi; two Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank Leon “Pete” Fisher, and 7 siblings.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Grayson County Home Hospice.
