Murray Gottlieb was a loving, dedicated, hardworking individual with a witty sense of humor. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Murray was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he met his beloved wife, Shirley. They were devoted to each other for over 77 years of marriage.
Murray was a World War II Army Veteran who served in Signal Corps in Germany and Japan. After his return from the war, he went back to school to obtain his professional engineering degree. He worked as a Petro Chemical Engineer for Lummus/Combustion Engineering Company for more than 35 years. When he retired, Murray and Shirley moved to their dream community at Hunters Run in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he played tennis until he was 94 years old, played bridge, and was president of his homeowners association. Murray was a dedicated philanthropist, supporting Israel and Jewish causes and many others. He died peacefully in his home of 34 years.
Besides his wife, Murray leaves behind his daughter, Faye Gottlieb Cascio (Charles) and son Larry Gottlieb (Yulia), 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Murray’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
