DELCAMBRE – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Evangeline Funeral Home for Joseph Wayne “Joe” Hadwin, age 58, at 2:30 pm. Deacon Patrick Burke will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Evangeline Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 am until time of service.
Joseph Wayne Hadwin was born in Shreveport, LA on November 6, 1964 and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and loved ones in his final days.
Joe, as he was affectionately known, spent many years as a superintendent in the Oil & Gas industry. He was a skilled craftsman with a passion for art, music and nature. He loved to travel and spend time outdoors with his family. He was a devout Christian and a powerful evangelist. He honored God’s will by spreading His word to the world and touching many souls with his testimony.
Survivors include his wife Katrina Libersat Hadwin; one son, Zachary Sonnier; one daughter, DesiRae Davidson; his mother, Jane Friday; step mother, Betty Vidler; two brothers, Michael Hadwin and wife Whitney and John David Hadwin; three sisters, Lisa Cush and husband Patrick; Jennifer Souza and husband Jason and Jessica Flores; his in laws, Pam Libersat and partner Stacey Delino; John Libersat and wife Edith and Gerard Libersat and wife Lisa. He is also survived by a large host of nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
Preceded in death by his father, John Roger Hadwin; his second wife, Evelyn Hadwin; one sister, Linda Marie Beard; his nephew, Joshua Cole Flores; paternal grandparents, Daniel Wesley Hadwin and Mary Helen Reed; Maternal Grandparents, Eugene Norton and Neva King Everett and his in laws, Nolan Ray Libersat and Catherine Helen Thibodeaux Libersat.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Sonnier, Michael Hadwin, his nephews, Owen Beard and Johnny Flores, Jason Souza, Tre Mott, Cory Guidroz and Bo Schexnaider
