Barbara Naquin Comeaux, age 90, of Delcambre, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Franklin, Louisiana, to Della Bergeron Naquin and William Naquin, Barbara lived a life rich in love, strength, and devotion.
A woman of strong will and unwavering spirit, Barbara found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for sewing and building and creating new things. Her creative talents extended to crafting and decorating, reflecting her love for making a house into a warm and welcoming home. She also was a big fan of the New Orleans Saints football team and faithfully cheered them on every week. She loved reading and always had a passion for learning about new and different things. However, nothing brought more joy to her than visits with her family.
In her younger years, Barbara played an integral role in her husband's shrimping operation, handling accounts and books with diligence. Her dedication to family was unparalleled, and she later became a devoted caretaker for her husband during his battle with Alzheimer's, demonstrating her selflessness and love.
Barbara is survived by her loving grandchild Angelina Buras (Clyde), her grandchild Heidi Burnette, and her grandchild Charlen Campo (Don). Her memory will also be cherished by great-grandchildren Andrew, Chelsea, Ashley, Hailey, Gabrielle, and Allie, along with seven great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Comeaux, her son Charles Lovell, her father William Naquin, her mother Della Bergeron Naquin, two sisters, and two brothers.
A graveside service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, 206 W Church St, Delcambre, Louisiana 70528. Deacon William "Bill" Vincent will officiate the service.
Barbara will be laid to rest in the peaceful grounds of Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, surrounded by the beauty she appreciated throughout her life.
The family expresses their gratitude for the support received during this challenging time especially to the staff of St.Joseph’s Carpenter Hospice House for their care and kindness during Barbara’s final days.
Serving as pallbearers will be members and friends close to the family.
