William “Bill” (Chief) Lee Slavin, Jr., 82, of Oklahoma City, passed away on January 16, 2017. He was born May 4, 1934, in Lexington, Oklahoma, to William L. and Coval Lorine Slavin, Sr. He graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1953. He married Patricia Womack on December 23, 1953, in Oklahoma City. Bill was an excellent carpenter, loved the outdoors, fishing, and the lake. He coached his son’s little league baseball and basketball teams for many years. Bill was a member of the Crooked Oak school board for 17 years. Bill and his son Greg really bonded while working on and rebuilding a 1957 truck while Greg was in high school. The family loved Lake Eufaula and spent a lot of time there with the grandkids. Bill retired in 1999 as a project manager and estimator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren: Crystal Miller and Jeffries Abbott.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; three children: Terry Daniel and spouse, Sterlin, Gregory Slavin and spouse, Judy and Tonya Degman; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister: Anita Ross; one step-sister: Debbie Hites; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside service will be 2 pm Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
