Wayne Howard Hubers passed away on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 83 years old. He was born October 24th, 1940 in Sioux Center, Iowa, and moved with his family to Orange City, Iowa on the family homestead farm where he grew up.
After graduation, he married his first wife and shortly joined the Air Force and served 8 years, mostly overseas in Asia. He was transferred and stationed at Tinker Air Force base where he met his future wife, Rosemary Reeves, and they were married on February 16th, 1967. In 1968, he left the Air Force after 8 years of service and joined the Midwest City Fire Dept. He served 20 years with them and retired as Captain in 1988. Afterward, he served 10 years as a volunteer at Cedar Blue Fire Dept. until his wife fell ill.
He then became a full-time caregiver to his wife Rosemary for 11 years until she passed away; they were married for 44 years. After the death of his wife, he started dating Mary Warren for 10 years until his death. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hermina Hubers, and his five siblings, Alfred,
Harold, Albertha, Merlyn, and Harvey. He is survived by his two daughters, Diana Davidson and Barbara Stevens, his son-in-law, Devin Stevens, his three stepchildren, Lueann Walson, Johnny Staggs, Jimmy Staggs and their spouses, his nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Wayne accepted Christ as his savior in January 1961 and served in many ways through his church, community, and his family. He loved traveling and making new friends everywhere he went. He also loved working with his hands and fixing things. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.
