Shirley Jean Leonard, age 79, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Born July 4, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK to Virgil and Betty Jean Browning. She was married to Larry Lee Leonard on 02-24-1961 in Louisville, KY. She remained married to him until his death in1992. She met Darold Tennison in 1998 and lived with him till her demise. She attended U.S. Grant High school in South Oklahoma City Class of 61. She raised a family and lived her entire life in Oklahoma. She wore many hats during those years. She worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T until she retired in2005, after 22 years of exceptional service. She is survived by her sister, Diane Corwine, her companion, Darold Tennison, Her eldest son Steve Lee Leonard, his wife Donna, their children Brandon Lee Leonard, Ashley Etheridge (Leonard)her husband Brandon, Her youngest Son, James Patrick Leonard, his wife Schelly, their children Gatlin James Leonard, and Grasen Patrick Leonard. She is also survived by 5 Great Grandchildren, Jaley Greer, Jaden Leonard, Emma Etheridge, Tucker Etheridge & Tyson Etheridge. Shirley passed away on 07-31-2022 at Norman Regional Health Plex. She went into Left Side Congestive Heart Failure, which in turn lead up to Multi Systems Organ Failure. She fought as long and as hard as her fragile little body could. She will be missed by all. Mostly by the two sons she raised and protected throughout her life. Somethings are irreplaceable.
A public viewing for Shirley will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115, followed by a funeral service from 2:00PM to 3:00 PM.
