Mary Ann Mahan

Mary Ann Mahan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away on July 14, 2011. She was born in Trieste, Italy on December 5, 1948. Mary will be remembered for her sense of humor, sincerity, creativity, determination, and strength. She loved people, especially kids, and worked for the Metropolitan Library System for 18 years. She was the librarian at Nicoma Park Library for several years until she retired in 2006. In 2005, Mary received a lung transplant. In her words, the transplant enabled her to meet three of her grandchildren she may not otherwise have been able to meet. Her family cherished these extra years with her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Orsola Wheeler. She is survived by her husband, Harry; her two children, Michael and Regina; and her five grandchildren, Ryan, Sean, Abagayle, Jesse, and Vanessa; her father, Charles Wheeler; and her three brothers, Gary, Charles, and Gene. Services and a celebration of her life will be held on July 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
