He spent most of his childhood in Indiahoma, Oklahoma before moving to Moore, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school and met his wife of 57 years Gayle Singleton. After high school he began his long career with Oklahoma Gas and Electric where he retired as a supervisor after 36 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1971. He was a deacon in the Baptist church and he was also a children’s Sunday school teacher for 36 years. He had a love for farming and was one of the founding members of the Shawnee Tractor and Engine Club. He loved spending time with his only grandson driving tractors and going fishing together.
He is survived by Gayle, his wife of 57 years; sister Edwina Singleton; brother Tommy Singleton; daughter Kristi (Nate) Hahn; son Shawn (Tina) Singleton; grandson Joel Hahn and numerous cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Bessie Singleton and brother Darrell Singleton.
A visitation for Johnny will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK 73115.
Serving as pallbearers are Shawn Singleton, Brad Wynn, Danny Dunagan, John Marlow, Shane Fry and Nathan Hahn.
