Jackie Day Jr.

Jack Day, Sr., 79, of Oklahoma City, passed away May 17, 2018. He was born September 26, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Jack and Lucille (Davis) Day. Jack grew up in Oklahoma City. Jack worked in Janitorial service for the Federal Government. He was an ordained minister and was faithful in ministering to the troubled youth and inmates. He was a member of the Highway of Holiness Church. Jack enjoyed Thrift Store shopping with his wife and spending time with his family and friends. He and Lupe Florez were united in marriage on April 22, 1954 in Moore, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Camacho, daughter-in-law, Susan Day, siblings, J.D, Leo, Billy, Ruby, Corine, Jimmie Ruth, and Shirley. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lupe Day; children, Jack Day, Jr. and wife Jill Spangler of Bethany, Monica Hibbs also of Bethany, Roberta Lancaster of Oklahoma City, Johnny Day of Mustang, Leo Day of Oklahoma City, Angela Hixon of Tulsa; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 1pm to 4pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11am at the Chapel of Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
