great-great-grandfather and proud Navy Veteran joined his wife of 55 years on May 11, 2024
peacefully at home.
He was born on July 29, 1938, to James and Mildred Seabourn in McCamey, Texas.
Jack joined the United States Navy at 18 and went to boot camp in San Diego, California
following in the footsteps of his father who served in the Navy in World War II. He served a full
20 years in California, the Philippines, Texas, and Tennessee. He flew missions during the
Vietnam War, and was promoted to Chief Avionics Electronics Technician in 1968. He retired in
1977.
He married Villanueva on Christmas Day in 1959. They had three children, James, John, and
Jackie.
He worked as an Electronics Technician for the Federal Aviation Administration for several years
and decided he would rather travel the world than work. He flew around the world including
England, France, Belgium, Greece, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy,
Vatican City, Spain, Australia, Pakistan, Philippines, Japan, China, Jordan, and Israel.
He was the Jack of all trades including an avid fisherman, computer nerd, car mechanic,
gardener, TV repairman, antiquing, and jokester. He was a devout Christian and a follower of his
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jack is survived by his favorite brother Billy and wife Edith; nephew Billy Wayne, niece Tina; his
children James, John and wife Laura, Jackie and husband Daren, daughters-in-law Violet and
Brenda; 10 grandchildren, Jamie, Violet, Jonathan, Stephen, Nancy, Amber, Hayden, Jordan,
Fallon, and Alexandra; 10 great-grandchildren Tyler, Kali, Colton, Jacob, Lindsey, Shelby, Dylan,
Jack, Calliope, and Wren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Ayan, Hazel, and Olivia. He is
known as “Grandad” to all.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father, Mildred and James, and wife of 54 years,
Villanueva Ravelo Seabourn.
Graveside service will be held May 20, 2024, at 2:00 at Sunnylane Funeral Home & Cemetery.
Family dinner will follow at the house and celebrate with Filipino food and Dad’s family videos.
Pallbearers will be Justin Mandeville, Daren Pityer, Billy Wayne Seabourn, Stephen Seabourn,
Hayden Seabourn, and Tyler Guinn.
