Carrol M. Vinson, age 83, of Del City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born in Wright City, OK on November 25, 1940 to Casper Bradley and Beulah Virginia Vinson. He married his wife, Barbara A. Vinson on October 5, 1979.
Carrol was his birth name, but we called him Grandpa or Vinson. Grandpa was a pretty quiet person most of the time. He loved watching western shows and the OKC Thunder. He also never missed a Texas Rangers game on his TV. He shared his love of the Rangers with his great grandson Jared. The two of them also shared a Birthday.
Grandpa was very proud of all his Grandkids. He always asked about their baseball games or how they did in cheer. They may never of known how much he truly cared because he was so quiet. Since he was hard of hearing he would ask granny what had been said after we all left the house.
Vinson also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He spent many days in the camper with his sons and family hunting and fishing on their land. He loved to drive the roads very fast in the mountains to scare Rinda.
Grandpa knew he was ready to be with the lord and after 75 days he was reunited with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Vinson, his son, Danny Vinson, grandson Robby Haines and several brothers and sister.
He is survived by his two children, Robin Haines of Del City and David McGowen of Del City; five grandchildren: Rinda Potter (husband Justin), Josie Robinson, and Jamie Alexander (husband Dusty); seven great-grandchildren: Josh Potter, Jared Potter, Gavin Haines (girlfriend Mallory), Brylee Haines, Marshal Haines, Tinley Haines, and Madilyn Robinson; Brother Ronnie Vinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two cats, Sissy and Stubs.
A graveside service for Carrol will be held at 2pm Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 E Indian Hills Rd, Norman, OK 73071.
