Logan's Story:
Logan is, above all, a free spirit. The first thoughts that come to mind to describe him are adventurous, fearless, fun, and free. He is passionate about his job-- he is an artist with a mig and tig welder. He is also one of the smart ones-- he spends every free moment he has doing the things he loves. He is the epitome of living life to the fullest. You can’t keep him out of the water. You’ll find him in the creeks or on the waves by boat or board. He’ll be the one to get up at 3am to go duck hunting before work begins for the day. The moment work is done you’ll find him casting a line out into the water to fish away the stresses of the day. A typical day for Logan is one to be jealous of. All his friends could tell you, if he isn’t in the water he’s in the mud. He’s never happier than when his bike or Jeep have been made brown by a day’s worth of riding (or should we say muddin).
Logan has been stubborn and strong-willed from the beginning. He came out “raising hell” for his mom-- never letting discipline stand in his way. He would boldly ask for more. She quickly realized she should just let him take the lead-- she followed him on countless adventures. He never gave up on something he put his mind to. HIs childhood stubbornness turned into a passion and tenacity for life that quickly rubbed off on everyone around him. His energy is contagious-- he could convince you to do anything no matter how crazy it sounded. He blazes his own trail, and he never lets any roadblocks stop him along the way. Don’t we all know how many times he broke a bone, totaled a dirt bike, or disabled the Jeep hours from home. He always knew someone would come to his rescue, he is deeply loved by so many. It’s also good he’s better at fixing things than anyone we know. He was glued to his Grandmother and Pop’s side as a child-- she taught him to be a surprisingly good cook (which came in handy with the girls), and he taught Logan to fix anything and everything with an engine.
No one is more loyal or reliable than Logan. He would drop anything to come change your tire on the side of the road. He has a soft spot for his sister and niece. He can often be found changing Ashlie’s oil or weed-eating her sad yard. He bought Sophie her first jeep, tool set, and her first fishing pole. It was clear that Sophie had melted his heart, and he was always available to teach her, love her, and show her adventure. He possessed an unbelievable love and protection for all of those close to him. You always feel safe with Logan. He makes you believe everything will be okay. If you know him well, you know that underneath all the courage and all the fun is an incredibly kind, compassionate heart. You feel his love for you in your bones-- you never have to doubt it.
Psalm 39:4-5
4 “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered—
how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath.”
