Beverly Ann Rossman

Beverly Ann Rossman (Stewart), 76, a native of Deerfield Beach, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on 2/6/23. Born on 3/19/46 to Deerfield Beach pioneer Jacklyn Stewart (Gaskin) and Lonnie Stewart, caring for others was in Ann’s blood and that is how she spent her entire life. Ann’s compassion and empathy were evident early, leading her to a successful career as a Registered Nurse in Broward County. This was truly a family calling, as her sister, Eloise Stewart (deceased) also worked as an RN.

While working one night in the emergency room, she had a slight dust-up with a Florida Highway Patrol trooper seeking to question a patient. Ann was in protective mode and would not hear of it, and this tall trooper left quite frustrated. W.R. Rossman (deceased) returned a few days later to ask this feisty nurse out on a date, and this led to 54 wonderful years of marriage. They would go on to have two boys, Richard and David, and this is where Ann shined the most.

After a few moves, Margate ended up being the location for the bulk of Ann’s life and where she and W.R. would raise their family. She was cast early in the role of, “neighborhood mom.” The Rossman house was always packed with neighborhood kids because they knew two things were always available: love and food. The front door was never locked, and Ann never knew a stranger.

Ann loved to travel, and trips across the state and country were the norm. A frequent sight was the Rossman van pulling out of the neighborhood, packed to the gills with young boys and surfboards on their way up to Cocoa Beach. She also loved to hop on a plane with her family to tour the country. Ann and W.R. also enjoyed travels during their later years.

Ann is survived by her two sons, Richard (Beatrice) and David (Suzie) Rossman, grandchildren Daniel, Raquel, Blaine and Ryland.

Visitation will be at Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home (217 E Hillsboro Blvd. Deerfield Beach, FL 33441) on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services will be at the same location on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow.
