Josephine Rizzo

Josephine (Fabbricante) Rizzo, aged 92 yrs., passed away on Sept. 17, 2021, after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, John Rizzo, her four children: Joan (& Paul) Woitach, Jane Baldauf, John (& Janet) Rizzo, and Jeff Rizzo, grandchildren: Michael (& Hannah) Woitach, Anthony Rizzo, Joseph (& Ronii) Rizzo, Christopher (& Sarah Doody) Baldauf, Brynna (& Jeremiah) Baldauf, Geneva Baldauf and great grandchildren: Danielle Rizzo, Natalia Rizzo, Gavin Rizzo, Jeremiah Rizzo, and Jackson Woitach. She is also survived by many cousins and relatives.

Josie, as she was known, was born to parents Jenny and Benedetto Fabbricante in 1929, and lived in Brooklyn until they later relocated to Long Island. She married John Rizzo, July 29, 1950, after meeting at a roller-skating rink in Brooklyn, later moving to Long Island in 1962 where they had four children. She and John spent earlier years traveling to other countries for vacations often bringing their children with them.

Josephine loved to party and have fun at large family gatherings. She was a wonderful cook whose food was enjoyed by many. Josephine worked at Cuddle Knit for a time but mostly enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies were reading, sewing, knitting, and crocheting items that she gave to family or donated to various organizations. She will be deeply missed.
