John Dwyer Sr., 97, of Hamilton Township, NJ returned to the arms of his loving wife, Angeline Rose (Dragotta) Dwyer, and daughter Bernadette, in heaven March 28, 2019. Born on April 1, 1921 in Manhattan, NY, John was one of 13 children. A WWII veteran, he met his late wife after returning from the war and raised his family on Long Island, NY before moving to NJ. John was a truck driver for many years, but enjoyed a long and fruitful retirement with his family and friends. He enjoyed his many years in NY, NJ and SC golfing, traveling and taking long walks. He is remembered for his great sense of humor and his strong work ethic. John is survived by his five children, Patricia Famularo (and Anthony); Nicholas Dwyer (and Katherine); Frances Shauris (and Robert); John Dwyer Jr. (and Kathy); Thomas Dwyer (and Deanna), his 13 grandchildren, and 19 greatgrandchildren. Services in John’s memory will be held at Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 2-4:30 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. Guests are asked to arrive at the funeral home one hour prior to the mass to join the funeral procession to Pine Lawn National Cemetery where John will be laid to rest.
