Joyce Faye Pope

Joyce Faye Holley Pope passed away on February 8, 2024. Mrs. Pope was born on November 22, 1943, to parents Clyde James Holley and Eunice Parker Holley. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother Paul Wayne Holley, and by her sister Myrtle Holley Thompson. She is survived by her son Timothy Pope (Jeanne McLachlan Pope), daughter Melinda Pope Ernest (Jeff Ernest), grandchildren Penny Pope Manthey (Logan Manthey), Mark Pope (Bethany Wilson Pope), and great-grandchildren, Daniel Pope, Beatrice and Arthur Manthey.

Mrs Pope was a loving mother to her children and Meemaw to her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed hosting holidays at her home. She was a strong and vibrant women and loved God and her church; she was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. She was an animal lover, having several dogs in her lifetime. She loved traveling and expanding her horizons with new experiences. Mrs. Pope was employed by General Electric in Decatur, Alabama as a fork-lift truck operator for 28 years.

Visitation will be Tuesday February 13, 2024, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Roselawn Funeral home in Decatur, Alabama. Graveside services will immediately follow the visitation at Roselawn Cemetery with Reverend Sherry Harris officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice or the Animal Shelter of Morgan County.
